The Partnership

What working with us looks like

No upfront cost to you

We invest ~$3,500 per book in professional editing, cover design, typesetting, and distribution setup. You pay nothing to get published with us. We only make our investment back when your book sells.

60% of net revenue — yours

Net revenue is gross royalties minus platform fees (e.g., Amazon's 30%). You get 60% of what's left, paid quarterly with transparent reporting. No advances to recoup. No mystery deductions.

You keep your rights

Our standard agreement licenses publishing rights for 5 years with renewal options. You retain copyright and all underlying IP. If you're part of the Coherence Universe, we'll discuss shared world licensing separately.

Real production quality

Every manuscript gets developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading before a professional designer touches it. Books that skip these steps underperform by 3–5x. Ours don't skip them.

Coordinated launch support

Your launch includes a social media campaign, email list promotion, and at minimum 4 weeks of coordinated marketing. We build reader audiences alongside your book, not just at release.

Quarterly reporting & direct communication

You get a plain-English royalty statement every quarter, full access to KDP sales data, and direct contact with Greg Schueman (founder) on any production or rights question. No intermediaries.

Revenue Model

The 60/40 model — real numbers

On a $9.99 eBook via KDP (70% royalty tier), Amazon pays out $6.99 per sale. You receive 60% = $4.19. Seawall Point retains $2.80 — which covers marketing, overhead, and production amortization.

Print books (POD via KDP Print) produce approximately $5.00–$6.00 net after printing costs on a $16.99 paperback. You receive 60% of that. Audiobooks via ACX split similarly.

The 40% SWPP share is operational fuel, not profit distribution. Every dollar goes back into the next book or the current one's marketing. When your book earns out our investment (usually 200–400 copies), every sale is pure profit to both of us.

What to Expect

Six months from acceptance to launch

Our standard production timeline is 24 weeks. Here's what that looks like:

  • Months 1–2: Developmental editing. We work with you on structure, pacing, character, and premise before anything else.
  • Month 3: Line editing and copy editing. Language, consistency, and prose-level refinement.
  • Month 4: Cover design and interior layout. You review and approve before anything is finalized.
  • Month 5: Proofreading, ARC production, and pre-launch marketing setup. Beta readers and early reviewers receive galleys.
  • Month 6: Launch. Coordinated social, email, and KDP campaigns. We treat your release as a publishing event, not a file upload.

Total production cost we absorb: approximately $3,550 per title. That's a real investment, which is why we're selective—and why we're genuinely motivated to market your book well.
